The Sims 4 – How to beat Greg the werewolf

the sims 4 how to fight greg

There are many Aspirations in the Sims 4 Werewolves, and if you wish to earn them all you’ll need to know how to beat Greg.

Greg is an aggressive lone wolf with a nasty tendency to start fights, who must be beaten to earn the Lone Wolf Aspiration for your Sim. Unfortunately, Greg is undoubtedly the toughest foe in the Werewolves expansion so this can seem impossible, particularly as you do not have any direct control over the fight itself.

However, Greg can be defeated by following our guidance. Here’s how to beat Greg in the Sims 4.

How to fight Greg in the Sims 4

To fight Greg, you must first travel to his home. Greg lives in the little wooden shack on the left-hand side of the Moonwood Mill map (circled in red below).

You cannot fast travel there directly, but you simply cross the bridge to the north side and turn left. Go down the path and eventually you’ll get to Greg’s home.

Either Greg will be there already, or you can summon him by inspecting the warning signs outside.

Greg will often attack fellow werewolves on sight, but if not you can interact with him and select the Werewolf Brawl option to start a fight.

How to beat Greg in the Sims 4

It is important to know that whatever happens, there is always a degree of luck and you cannot completely guarantee a victory against Greg.

You will only have a fighting chance when you have become a werewolf and transformed, but the odds will still be against you. However, there are numerous things that will significantly boost your chances.

Max your Fitness skill

The higher your Sim’s Fitness skill, the better your chances of victory. Ideally, you should max this at level 10, though it is possible to beat Greg whilst on a lower level.

There are lots of ways to gain Fitness in the Sims 4, such as jogging, swimming and using gym equipment like the treadmill, weight bench and punching bag.

You are not advised to attempt Greg if your Sim’s fitness is below level 9. Get your Sim working out regularly and aim to have Fitness as high as possible before you take on Greg.

catch a luna fish

Eat a Luna Fish

A Luna Fish will bump up your odds a bit further, but it can be tricky to reel one in.

This can be caught at Lake Lunvik in Moonwood Mill. Your chances are better during a full moon, but the Luna Fish is still a pretty rare one that may take some patience before you get lucky.

Eat it before you look for Greg, giving you a long energy boost that may just make the difference.

Make sure your Sim is in a good mood

You must be in a good mood to have a decent chance of beating Greg.

Do not fight Greg unless all of your Sim’s satisfaction meters are in the green. This is a nice easy one but is also very important, so don’t neglect your Sim in the buildup to the fight.

Reach the Apex Werewolf Rank

Reaching the Apex rank of a Werewolf pack will be a key requirement for beating Greg, as well as fulfilling other Werewolf Aspirations.

First, you’ll have to join either the Wildfangs or the Moonwood Collective, where you will start at Pup rank. There are five potential Werewolf ranks in either pack, ending with Apex. It does not appear your choice of pack makes any difference to the fight against Greg, as long as you reach Apex.

You can level up by performing various activities that correspond with the pack values. The two packs have different values and Aspirations, though there is some overlap.

Communal activities like giving gifts and contributing scavenged items will impress either pack. Meanwhile, turning other Sims into werewolves is a Wildfangs value whilst advocating for Werewolf Diplomacy is a Moonwood Collective requirement.

Keep performing these tasks to steadily climb your rank to Apex, which will also enable you to earn various Werewolf abilities.

alpha wolf ability

Unlock the Alpha Wolf ability

The Alpha Wolf ability will generally increase your chances of emerging victorious in fights against werewolves, including Greg.

This one comes quite naturally if you have reached the Apex rank in a pack. The ability points you earn along the way will gain you a wide variety of Werewolf abilities, including this one.

Once it is learnt, your odds of overcoming Greg will be significantly boosted. It’ll also make you formidable in other Werewolf Brawls. If you can beat Greg, you should be able to beat just about anyone including either Pack Leader.

Have the Energized moodlet active

Along with generally being in a good mood, it also helps for your Sim to be fully energized. Note that eating a Grilled Luna Fish is one way to achieve this already.

However, there are all sorts of other ways to get energized. Before you take on Greg, consider doing some of the other relevant activities like drinking coffee, yoga, having a brisk shower, taking a nap or exercising.

If you’re struggling to catch the Luna Fish, these are a good substitute to get your Sim’s energy up.

Get angry

It’s unclear how much difference this one makes (if any) but some players believe that inducing a rage will give your Sim a better chance of defeating Greg.

The way to get angry is to increase your Werewolf Fury, which depends on your individual werewolf’s temperaments. You can change these one per full moon cycle, but they vary for each Sim.

Perform the actions that causes your Sim to get angry, and you might just have an edge against the ever-angry Greg. You can instigate Fury whilst also having all of your Sim’s general needs under control.

Keep trying

To beat Greg in the Sims 4, you’ll need to be persistent. Even if you do everything right, you can still lose to Greg. In fact, it’s quite rare to beat him first time and can take many attempts before you succeed.

Thankfully there isn’t any penalty for losing and you won’t have to wait that long to try again.

Your Sim’s mood will likely suffer, and some negative moodlets will appear. If you take care of them, you should be able to take on Greg again within a handful of in-game hours.

Keep trying and eventually you will get the better of him.

What is the reward for beating Greg in the Sims 4?

When you defeat Greg, you can earn the Lone Wolf Aspiration. However, you also need to become an Apex, Unleash the Beast 25 times and Spar with Werewolves 5 times to achieve it. Most of this will naturally be taken care of along the way, so it shouldn’t be hard to finish off the requirements.

Completing all of these steps will bestow you with the Threatening Presence trait, which instills more fear in people around you. This is a handy characteristic for any lone wolf.

That’s everything you need to know about how to beat Greg in the Sims 4. Nothing is guaranteed, but these tips will give you the best opportunity to defeat the toughest opponent in Moonwood Mill. For more Sims 4 content, check out the articles below:
