Pokemon Scarlet and Violet – where to get Tofu
Tofu is an ingredient that can be obtained in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to earn some useful boosts from your food. Not only that, but it’s always nice to have a relaxing picnic with your Pokemon that includes a variety of dishes.
Tofu is a food made from soy milk, which has steadily grown in popularity in recent years. Apparently, the region of Paldea is no different, where Tofu is used in a wide range of sandwiches.
There is only one place to get Tofu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and you’ll actually have to clear a sizeable chunk of the game before it becomes available. Everything you need to know is just below.

Where to get Tofu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Tofu can be purchased from Aquiesta Supermarket in Levincia after you have collected any five gym badges. Tofu costs ₽260 each and you can buy as much as you want. The order you obtain the gym badges doesn’t matter.
Levincia is found in the East side of Paldea, and Aquiesta Supermarket is in the northern half of the town and has pictures of various different peppers on its front. This is a key location for recipes in general, as several rare ingredients can be found here.
Aquiesta Supermarket is the only place in the entire game you can get Tofu, meaning it will take a little while before you can acquire any of this ingredient.
What is Tofu used for?
Tofu is a sandwich ingredient in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Once you have unlocked it, you can combine it with other ingredients to place in a sandwich.

The Tofu item description within Pokemon Scarlet and Violet may sound a bit pessimistic, but Tofu actually works as a strong filling that contributes towards some great sandwich recipes.
Sandwiches are similar to the Curry system in Pokemon Sword and Shield, bestowing certain stat boosts depending on the type of sandwich and the meal power. Sandwiches are crucial for hunting certain Pokemon types as well as Shiny Pokemon variations, so it’s best to know as many sandwich recipes as possible.
There is no other use for Tofu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. However, if you want to make all of the Tofu Sandwiches you’ll need to collect a lot of other ingredients as well.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Sandwiches including Tofu
Once Tofu is unlocked, you can use it to make a bunch of different sandwiches. To get the best ones, you’ll have to take part in some 5 star or 6 star Tera raids to get the rarest ingredients to accompany the Tofu.
Here is every sandwich that includes Tofu.
Tofu Sandwiches
As you might expect, Tofu sandwiches can be made with Tofu. These come in four different tiers.
- Tofu Sandwich
- Great Tofu Sandwich
- Ultra Tofu Sandwich
- Master Tofu Sandwich
Tofu sandwiches require multiple Tofu with other ingredients like Lettuce, Avocado, Wasabi and Rice for a very Japanese feel. More extravagant ingredients such as Watercress and Salty Herba Mystica are required for the higher tiers.
The Master Tofu Sandwich grants Normal Level 2 Title Power, Grass Level 2 Encounter Power and Fighting Level 2 Catching Power. In a nutshell, this means more likely to find Normal Pokemon with Titles, more likely to find Grass Pokemon and more likely to catch Fighting Pokemon in your pokeballs.
The recipe will be provided by the man in the Sandwich Shop once you have obtained a Salty Herba Mystica, which can be obtained by clearing 5 star and 6 star Tera raids.
Since you’ll generally need a look of different Herba Mysticas, you should focus on the Pokemon that can drop them all. The drop rate in 5-star Tera raids is 2.5% and the drop rate in 6-star Tera raids is 3%.
Decadent Sandwiches
There are three different tiers of the Decadent Sandwich, which also require Tofu:
- Great Decadent Sandwich
- Ultra Decadent Sandwich
- Master Decadent Sandwich
The Decadent Sandwiches also require a lot of ingredients. Vingegar, Salt and Olive Oil are mainstays, along with a Smoked Fillet. The Master Decadent Sandwich requires a Spicy Herba Mystica along with Klawf Stick which is unlocked for Aquiesta Supermarket by collecting 8 gym badges.
The Master Decadent Sandwich grants Ghost Level 2 Title Power, Dark Level 2 Humungo Power and Ice Level 2 Encounter Power. Therefore this is the sandwich if you are looking for Ghost Pokemon with titles, large Dark Pokemon or more encounters with Ice Pokemon.
This time, the Spicy Herba Mystica must be obtained to get the recipe, also found in the 5 star and 6 star Tera raids. Again, the drop rate in 5-star Tera raids is 2.5% and the drop rate in 6-star Tera raids is 3% from the Pokemon who can drop all Herba Mystica.
As before, simply talk to the main in the Sandwich Shop when you have one and the recipe will be yours.
Tower Sandwiches
Finally, we have the Tower Sandwiches which have only two variations.
- Ultra Tower Sandwich
- Master Tower Sandwich
The Tower Sandwiches sound seriously filling. Along with Tofu, they contain ingredients such as Hamburgers, Rice, Potato Salad and Curry Powder. The Master Tower Sandwich requires the rare Bitter Herba Mystica ingredient.
As usual, the Master Tower Sandwich also grants three benefits: Steel Level 2 Title Power, Normal Level 2 Encounter Power and Fighting Level 2 Exp. Point Power. In other words, more likely to find Steel Pokemon with titles, more likely to come across Normal Pokemon and 30% more EXP from defeating Fighting Pokemon.
Yet again, you can gain the recipe for the Master Tower Sandwich by talking to the man in the Sandwich Shop when you have a Bitter Herba Mystica. Like the other Herba Mysticas, these are also found in 5 star and 6 star Tera raids. The drop rate is the same as the other Herba Mysticas from certain Pokemon – 2.5% in 5-star raids and 3% in 6-star raids.
