Pokemon Legends Arceus – How to get Shiny Eevee

pokemon legends arceus shiny eevee 2

Everyone loves Eevee. One of the most popular (and cute) Pokemon of the lot, Eevee is a true veteran of the series, first appearing in Generation 1. Over the years, Eevee has appeared in a plethora of games, films, manga and shows, but surprisingly still isn’t a playable character in Smash Bros. With Eevee’s prevailing popularity, many people search for an elusive Shiny Eevee in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, or the even rarer Shiny Alpha Eevee. It’s not easy to get your hands on one, but we’ve got all of the tips and tricks covered below.

Here’s everything you need to know about how to get a Shiny Eevee or a Shiny Alpha Eevee in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

What is the difference between Eevee and Shiny Eevee?

The only difference between the Shiny Eevee and the regular Eevee is in the cosmetic design. A Shiny Eevee has a lighter colour palette, as shown in the pictures above.

Check out the images to identify the colour of a Shiny Eevee and consider if you truly want to spend the necessary time catching one. Other than that, I suppose there’s status to consider – not many people have got such a sought-after a rare Pokemon!

As for the Alpha Eevee, this is a stronger version of the Pokemon, easily distinguished on the field with its increased size and glowing red eyes. Like other Alphas, this comes at a far higher level than a normal Eevee and remains significantly bigger than it’s non-Alpha counterparts (and retains this size advantage when it evolves). However, there is no gameplay difference between a Shiny Alpha Eevee and a normal Alpha Eevee other than the colour.

Shiny Pokemon hunts generally follow the same pattern, with the same few methods employed. Eevee is no exception:

  • Catch a Shiny Eevee in the wild
  • Enter a Mass Outbreak and find a Shiny Eevee

Although Eevee isn’t a particularly rare Pokemon, Shiny versions of every Pokemon are exceptionally rare so the process is likely to take you a while. If you happen to catch a Shiny Pokemon naturally, you are a lucky Pokemon trainer indeed.

How to get a Shiny Alpha Eevee in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

An Alpha version of a Pokemon is a rarer but more powerful variation, often coming in about 20 levels higher than a typical Pokemon.

Even rarer still is a Shiny Alpha, which has the exact same methodology, it’s just even harder. Shiny and Alpha versions are both rare, so combining the two results in astronomical odds. It’s possible, but it’s advisable not to be too precious about obtaining a Shiny Alpha as you are probably drawing out the process even longer. The Shiny Alpha can appear within the Mass Outbreaks, so you might get lucky and stumble across one.

Where to find a Shiny Eevee in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

If you’re hunting a Shiny Eevee the old-fashioned way, you have to search in the following places for an Eevee, and on very rare occasions it will be a Shiny Eevee:

  • Horseshoe Plains in Obsidian Fieldlands
  • Crossing Slope in Cobalt Coastlands
  • Avalugg’s Legacy in Alabaster Islands
  • Avalanche Slopes in Alabaster Islands

Unfortunately, since Eevee is the primary form, you cannot catch an unevolved Shiny and evolve it into Shiny Eevee (like, for instance catching a Shiny Riolu to evolve into a Shiny Lucario). This means you have to put all your eggs in one basket and simply pursue the Shiny Eevee itself.

When you have caught one, there are numerous evolution options for Eevee allowing you to end up with a Shiny version of whichever one you choose.

Chances of encountering a Shiny Eevee

Unfortunately, there is no way of making your odds of catching a Shiny particularly great, but you can massively improve them with a few methods.

  • The odds of encountering a Shiny Eevee are 1 in 4,096. This is the standard chance that applies to all Shinies.
  • If you reach Research Level 10 for Eevee, those odds will be slashed in half to 1 in 2,048.
  • Improve this to a perfect Pokedex entry for Eevee and the odds become 1 in 1024.
  • Get the Shiny Charm and Research Level 10 and the odds are 1 in 819
  • Get the Shiny Charm and perfect Pokedex entry and the odds are 1 in 585
  • However, whilst in a Mass Outbreak, the odds of everything above get considerably boosted. With all of the above conditions met, the chance becomes 1 in 128 which is the best you can possibly get for a Shiny in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

To put it simply, make sure you get a perfect Pokedex entry for Eevee and acquire the Shiny Charm before heading into a Mass Outbreak.

How to get the Shiny Charm

The most important item for Shiny Eevee hunting (and any Shiny hunting for that matter) is the Shiny Charm, which will boost your chances of encountering Shiny Pokemon as per the numbers above. Unfortunately, this isn’t an easy one to obtain and will basically require you to complete the game. You must fill the Pokedex by reaching Research Level 10 for every Pokemon.

When you have eventually done this, go to Galaxy Hall in Jubilife Village. Talk to Professor Laventon, where you will be granted the Shiny Charm by Cyllene after a short cutscene.

Once you have it, you don’t actually need to do anything to equip the charm. It appears as a key item and will automatically increase your Shiny odds.

Head for Mass Outbreaks

As you will have noted above, Mass Outbreaks are your best option for finding a Shiny Eevee because they drastically increase your chances.

The good news is that you can tell when a Mass Outbreak is present somewhere in the region. Whenever you leave Jubilife Village, you will be told about it, along with the relevant location.

You can also ensure you can keep trying the Mass Outbreak by saving your game before you go there (make sure autosave does not overwrite your file). If your hunt is unsuccessful, reload your game and try again which will respawn the Pokemon and give you another chance of finding a Shiny Eevee.

Hopefully this Pokemon Legends Arceus Shiny Eevee guide will provide you everything you need to know catch a Shiny Eevee or if you’re really lucky, a Shiny Alpha Eevee.
