Apex Legends – How to get Skydive Emotes

apex legends skydive emotes

Skydive Emotes allow you to drop into battle with some serious swagger in Apex Legends. These include extravagant flips and stunts that look awesome, so it’s natural that players want to get their hands on the best ones.

These were introduced all the way back in Season 2, and new ones are commonly added to Apex Legends. The general consensus seems to be that more recent Skydive Emotes aren’t quite as fun as they used to be, but they are still worth pursuing.

We’ve got it all covered below. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get Skydive Emotes in Apex Legends. We’ll also explain how to equip and use Skydive Emotes.

How to get Skydive Emotes in Apex Legends

There are currently four different ways of getting Skydive Emotes in Apex Legends. We’ll explain them all individually.

Free Battle Pass

There are sometimes Skydive Emotes available from the Battle Pass for free. Progress your level by gaining EXP and earning enough stars, and you’ll gradually gain access to more rewards.

Rarely, these rewards come in the form of Skydive Emotes, though most would concede they are generally not the best ones. Sometimes, there won’t be any free Skydive Emotes so don’t get your hopes up too high.

Unfortunately, even if there are Skydive Emotes on a season’s Free Battle Pass, the number of available options won’t be huge. Most of the Skydive Emotes will be unavailable without purchasing the Premium Battle Pass to unlock premium rewards.

Nonetheless, if you are a free player then simply keep levelling up your character and see what rewards you can get.

Premium Battle Pass

To get the majority of the Apex Legends Skydive Emotes, you will have to earn them in the Battle Pass after purchasing access to Premium Battle Pass rewards.

You will still usually have to level up your characters significantly to get all available Skydive Emotes. Sometimes there will be a Skydive Emote on a low level, but often they are earned over level 80 or even 90.

To gain quicker levels which will potentially get you closer to the Skydive Emote you want, you can opt for the Battle Pass Bundle which will fast-forward 25 levels.

If you wish to see which Skydive Emotes are available in the current season, go to Season Hub in the menu. Here, it will show you the available rewards and how many levels are required for each one.

NOTE: Most of the time, the Skydive Emotes are available during a season’s Battle Pass and do not reappear on a Battle Pass in future seasons. If you want to get old Skydive Emotes, you’ll have to acquire it from the store or an event.

Purchase from the Store

Rather than having to work for them, certain Skydive Emotes can simply be bought from the in-game store. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as just opening the store and finding the one you want.

Instead, the store will have Minor Events where certain cosmetics are available for a limited time only.

Head to the ‘Featured’ area to see if any of these are currently open for purchase. The available Skydive Emotes will rotate over time, so there is never a big selection.

Skydive Emotes can also be packaged within legend bundles, where you can buy it among other cosmetics for the legend in question.

Collection Events

The many Apex Legends Collection Events will also present opportunities to gain brand new Skydive Emotes.

During these limited-time events (generally lasting 2-3 weeks), you can purchase various cosmetics with Apex Coins or Crafting Metals, which include Skydive Emotes. This isn’t always the case, and some events will not have any Skydive Emotes available.

If Skydive Emotes are included, generally they will cost either 1,000 Apex Coins or 800 Crafting Metals. However, the exact conditions of events may be subject to change in future. There is also the possibility of buying a bundle, but this option will have an element of luck involved as you may not get the Skydive Emote.

Skydive Emotes show up quite often during these events, but they tend to be dominated by Legend Skins and other cosmetics. Like the store, you should simply keep a close eye on these events whenever new ones appear.

How to equip Skydive Emotes in Apex Legends

Once you have unlocked a Skydive Emote it for the character in question, you can equip it in the Emote Wheel.

Go into Legends and pick the legend whose Skydive Emote you want to equip. Select ‘Emote Wheel’ at the top, and if you have any Skydive Emotes there’ll be the option to select Skydive Emotes. Here, you can choose to add one or multiple Skydive Emotes into your Emote Wheel.

NOTE: If the Legend doesn’t have any Skydive Emotes, the section won’t appear in the menu at all.

Whilst you are dropping into battle, press the Jump button to activate a Skydive Emote. In the event you have multiple Skydive Emotes, press the Emote button to cycle through them and settle on the one you want to use.

Can you get old Skydive Emotes in Apex Legends?

If you missed an event or failed to claim a particular Skydive Emote rewarded during a season’s Battle Pass, then you may still be able to acquire it.

This all depends on the Skydive Emote in question – some of them were truly time-sensitive and will never return. Others will reappear from time to time during a store rotation or Events. These are not exactly common, but it’s also not out of the question.

If there is a specific Skydive Emote you want, all you can really do is hope for the best and keep a close eye on the store and any events. Keep your fingers crossed and you may get lucky.

Do Skydive Emotes actually do anything in Apex Legends?

There are no gameplay benefits from Skydive Emotes. They are purely cosmetic and simply present an opportunity to drop into battle with some style.

Apex Legends has a lot of cosmetic customisation, so Skydive Emotes are another way of expressing yourself during the game.
