All Genshin Impact birthdays in order
Genshin Impact has become one of the most popular games on the planet, thanks largely to its wide range of unique and interesting characters. Many of these playable characters have become instant fan-favourites due to their designs, personalities and gameplay.
Along with their own distinct abilities and playstyles, each Genshin Impact character also comes with a predetermined birthday. These birthdays actually have an impact on gameplay, where some benefits are offered by logging in on a character’s birthday.
Furthermore, each character’s birthday provides a chance for the wider Genshin Impact community to celebrate them individually as a character. Genshin Impact forums and groups will routinely use each birthday as a time to provide fan art and clips relating to the character in question.
Here’s everything you need to know about Genshin Impact birthdays, as well as all Genshin Impact birthdays in order.
What happens on a character’s birthday in Genshin Impact?
If you log into Genshin Impact on a character’s birthday, you will receive some mail from the character in question which includes a Special Dish and other Miscellaneous items ranging from crafting materials, local specialties, cooking ingredients and many more. These are all different depending on the character.
You may get as many as 3-4 different items or sets, which change every year. Sometimes the same Special Dish is provided as the previous year, but generally the other items change annually.
Traveler’s birthday is a bit different to everybody else’s. This birthday is determined by the player and cannot be changed afterwards. On Traveler’s birthday, you will receive an item called Cake For Traveler. This can be used to claim a Fragile Resin, which in turn is exchanged for 60 Original Resin. You will also keep a replica of the cake to be viewed in the menu afterwards. The design of the cake seems to change each year.
Since there are so many items effectively behind the gacha paywall, it’s always nice to have some free bonus items so make sure you log in during each character’s birthday.
NOTE: The server’s daily reset time doesn’t apply to birthday mail. You will receive the mail at midnight or can claim it up until 23:59 based on the server’s time.
Can you change Traveler’s birthday?
Traveler’s birthday can be chosen by the player, but unfortunately you cannot change Traveler’s birthday once it has been set in Genshin Impact. Set it manually in the pause menu, and when it’s been entered once it is locked in forever.
Though it’s a bit of a shame, it’s also an understandable method of stopping players altering their settings to continually claim the free Fragile Resin that comes with the Cake for Traveler.
Thankfully, there are still plenty of birthdays to be celebrated amongst the growing roster of other characters, so a freebie is never too far away.
Every other character’s birthday is predetermined from the start and cannot be altered at all.
Do you need to unlock a Genshin Impact character for their birthday rewards?
The good news is that you do not need to have a Genshin Impact character in your party to claim the free rewards on their birthday.
In fact, you don’t even need to meet the character or cross their path at all to get these benefits. Therefore it is always worth keeping track of which birthdays are approaching. This is effectively a chance to log in and claim some freebies, which can include some mightily useful Special Dishes which are very difficult (or even impossible) to obtain elsewhere.

As you’ll see from our Genshin Impact birthdays list, the characters are spread pretty evenly throughout the year with multiple instances featured of each star sign.
As more and more characters are added to Genshin Impact, this only means more birthdays and more free packages. You’ll also get some a character-specific message from the person whose birthday it is, which you can read as in-game mail. It’s actually quite generous of the celebrating character to give you a present rather than the other way around, but we’ll take what we can get.

Like most RPGs, the majority of Genshin Impact’s cast are pretty young. However, there are a handful of characters who have lived thousands of years.
Unfortunately, many characters still do not have their ages confirmed and we have left these out unless a relatively small age range has been mentioned. As more content is released, hopefully all Genshin Impact characters ages will become clear.
There we have it. Every Genshin Impact birthday in order, highlighting the key dates to look out for.
